Program Requirements
- Adult Students Must:
- Have a high school diploma or GED
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Have valid California ID or DL
- Have Social Security card or “Right to Work” in USA
- Attend one mandatory orientation session
- Have no convictions
- pass FBI and DOJ fingerprint clearance
- Pass drug screening, prior to acceptance
- TABE testing (only if on-campus testing permitted
Physical requirements
- If chosen for the program:
- Immunization record up to date
- Candidates must pass Physical, TB, and Drug Screen. Must be able to lift, bend/stoop, walk and stand as necessary for job duties. Must be able to assist an adult (150 lbs.) with bathing and moving from bed to wheelchair. Candidates must complete all items in Castle Branch Compliance.

Prerequisite Classes
- Medical Math
- Medical Terminology
- Psychology
- Anatomy & Physiology (must include lab)
All four (4) classes must be completed at the time of application submission. Minimum grade of “C” or above required. Classes must be completed within 5 years of the start date. Prerequisites may be taken at the Bakersfield Adult School or through equivalent courses at an accredited college.
